The Ultimate Upgrade: How We Quadrupled Processing Power with the POC-715

Here at Impulse, we recently completed an exciting upgrade project for one of our customers. We helped them to upgrade their crane control systems, and we did it with the POC-715 from Neousys—a small yet powerful device that's perfect for automation and control tasks.

These new computers will lend a hand in controlling cranes, a vital part of the customer's operations.

Why the POC-715?

The customer’s old control PCs were starting to show their age, running slower and struggling to keep up. With operations dependent on precision and speed, this was an issue that needed addressing.

So, it was time for an upgrade, and the difference the POC-715 makes will be like night and day. For automation and control tasks, the POC-715 is perfect thanks to its robust performance and reliability.

The POC-715 units we provided are built to excel in environments where control and automation are key.

They offer:

  • High-Speed Processing: This little machine packs a serious punch with a clock speed of up to 3.8 GHz—more than double what the customer’s old units could manage. This means tasks that were previously lagging can now execute with twice the speed, reducing latency in crane control.

  • Enhanced Computational Power: The improvement in CPU performance is evident from the CPU pass mark: the old computers had a score of 2384, while the POC-715 units, featuring Intel Core i3-N305, has a far improved score of 9965 with the same power usage, resulting in more than four times the processing efficiency.

What does that mean in real terms? Faster decision-making, smoother control, and much less lag, all of which are crucial when you’re dealing with heavy machinery like cranes.

For the customer, this upgrade means smoother and more reliable crane operations. The increased speed and processing power mean faster response times and better handling of simultaneous tasks. These improvements help maintain high efficiency and safety standards, which are crucial in heavy machinery environments.

By moving to the POC-715, our customer will be set for continued success, giving them a reliable, high-performance system that’s ready for the future. Whether it’s for crane control or any other automation process, the POC-715 has proven that it’s more than capable of taking on the challenge, offering the speed and power needed for modern industrial applications.
