Ethernet/IP

EtherNet/IP is a communication protocol designed for use in process control and other industrial automation applications. EtherNet/IP is an application layer protocol treating devices on the network as a series of objects. EtherNet/IP is built on the Common Industrial Protocol for access to objects from ControlNet and DeviceNet networks. Not to be confused with standard Ethernet.

Wide Voltage

These devices and systems have been designed to accept a wide voltage DC power input. This feature is desirable in the industrial market where a fixed voltage level or mains AC power cannot be guaranteed.

Modbus

Modbus is a communication protocol for transmitting information between electronic devices over serial lines or via Ethernet and is commonly used in process and factory automation.

PROFIBUS

PROFIBUS (from process field bus) is a protocol for field bus communication in automation technology. PROFIBUS links automation systems and controllers with decentralized field devices such as sensors, actuators, and encoders. PROFIBUS networks exchange data using a single bus cable.

CE

CE is a mandatory standard for products on the market in the European Economic Area. By CE marking a product, the manufacturer ensures that the item meets the essential safety requirements set out in the applicable CE directive.

DIN-rail mountable

These devices have been designed to be mounted directly on to an industry standard DIN-rail.

Extended Wide Temperature

These products utilise high quality industrial grade components enabling them to work in extended wide temperature environments. They are capable of running below -20C and above +70C and offer further protection than standard wide temperature rated products.

FCC Approved

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) is an independent agency of the United States government that sets standards and governs the testing of conducted and radiated emissions such as EMI.

RoHS

This product fully adheres to the Restriction of Hazardous Substances Directive 2002/95/EC, RoHS for short.  The directive covers the restriction of use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment and was adopted in February 2003 by the European Union.

UL

Underwriters Laboratories (UL) is an independent product safety certification organisation based in the United States. UL develops standards for products, materials, components, assemblies, tool and equipment, mainly dealing with product safety.

The SDS-3016 smart 16-port Layer 2 Ethernet switch is the ideal product for IA engineers and automation machine builders to make their networks compatible with the vision of Industry 4.0.  By breathing life into machines and control cabinets, the smart switch simplifies daily tasks with its easy configuration and easy installation.

In addition, it is monitorable and is easy to maintain throughout the entire product life cycle. The most frequently used automation protocols, including EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, and Modbus/TCP, are embedded in the SDS-3016 switch to provide enhanced operational performance and flexibility by making it controllable and visible from automation HMIs.

It also supports a range of useful management functions, including IEEE 802.1Q VLAN, port mirroring, SNMP, and warning by relay.
